A welcoming and well-resourced specialist school in the Yeovil area is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. This role involves working with pupils aged 4 to 16 who require additional support to access learning and develop important life skills. This highly regarded specialist provision is dedicated to supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Pupils may have autism spectrum condition (ASC), communication and interaction needs, moderate to complex learning difficulties, and social emotional needs. The school prides itself on creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential. Staff work closely together to provide personalised learning, therapeutic support and positive encouragement for every student.

Role Overview

Providing one-to-one and small group support in the classroom
Helping pupils develop communication, social and independence skills
Assisting teachers with learning activities and behaviour support strategies

Experience with autism, learning difficulties or additional needs is beneficial

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
