Job Title: Primary Teaching Assistant
Start Date: September 2025
Pay Rate: £89.44 - £120 per day
Contract: Full-time, Temporary (with potential for permanent roles)
Are you a nurturing and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a new opportunity this September?
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a number of inclusive and welcoming primary schools across the Wigan area, who are looking to appoint dedicated Teaching Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
These roles are ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children’s learning and development across a range of ages and abilities, including those with additional needs. You’ll work alongside experienced teachers and SENDCos to help create a positive and engaging learning environment where all children can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.
- Assist in delivering high-quality lessons tailored to individual needs.
- Support pupils' personal, social, and emotional development.
- Contribute to classroom organisation and the creation of engaging displays.
- Observe, track and feedback on pupil progress.
- Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and parents/carers.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience working in a primary school setting.
- A patient, caring and flexible approach.
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum or a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
Desirable:
- A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (e.g., Supporting Teaching & Learning).
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN).
- Knowledge of phonics, early reading, or interventions.
