Trainee Teaching Assistant – Wigan

Pay Rate: £90 - £100 / day

No formal school experience? No problem — we can help you upskill with fully supported Level 2 Teaching Assistant training, Thrive training, and access to a wide range of CPD courses to help you grow in confidence and competence.

Role Overview:

• Support pupils across the classroom, working under the guidance of the class teacher.
• Assist with learning activities, small-group work, and general classroom support.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, encouraging engagement, confidence, and good behaviour.
• Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
• Support the teacher with preparing resources and maintaining classroom routines.
• Gain experience working with pupils with SEND, with full support and training provided.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• A willingness to learn and a genuine interest in working with children.
• A caring, patient, and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
• Any experience with children—whether in schools, coaching, youth work, volunteering, or childcare—is beneficial but not essential.
