Teaching Assistant
Job description
A well-regarded primary school in the Waterlooville area is currently seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2025, supporting pupils across the wider primary age range.
The school is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their best. This role will involve working with pupils both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, providing academic and social-emotional support as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching and learning across a range of primary year groups
- Deliver interventions and tailored support to individuals and small groups
- Assist pupils with emotional and behavioural needs to help remove barriers to learning
- Work collaboratively with class teachers and support staff
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold relevant qualifications and have strong literacy/numeracy skills
- Have experience as a Learning Support Assistant (or in a similar role)
- Be adaptable, reliable, and confident in working across different age groups
- Understand the varying needs of primary-aged children
- Be calm, empathetic, and committed to supporting inclusive education
- Have a positive mindset and a proactive, “can-do” approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
