Job description

Full time LSA opportunity in Southampton! 

This position is for the summer term and the potential for a September position too. 

A well-supported and inclusive partner school is seeking a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join their team with an immediate start. This role will run for the remainder of the Summer Term, with the opportunity to continue into September for the right candidate.

The school caters for pupils with a range of additional needs, including SEMH and those with EHCPs. They are looking for a committed and experienced practitioner who can provide consistent, high-quality support and contribute to a positive and structured learning environment.

Working closely with class teachers and the SENCo, the successful candidate will support pupils on both a 1:1 basis and within small groups, helping to implement tailored strategies that promote engagement, emotional regulation, and academic progress.

The ideal educator will:

  • Have demonstrable experience supporting children with SEMH needs and EHCPs
  • Be confident managing behaviour positively and consistently
  • Show a patient, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Be able to deliver targeted interventions and adapt support to meet individual learning plans
  • Hold a valid first aid qualification or be willing to undertake training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
