Learning Support Assistant

LSA position in Southampton
A friendly and inclusive mainstream infant school in Southampton is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team for the Summer Term, with the potential to continue into September for the right candidate.
This setting supports a high number of pupils with EHCPs and a diverse range of neurodivergent needs. As such, the school is looking for a compassionate and experienced practitioner who is confident working with children requiring additional support and can contribute positively to a nurturing, structured learning environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCo to support pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping to deliver tailored interventions and promote engagement, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
The ideal educator will:
- Have demonstrable experience supporting children with high levels of SEN, including those with EHCPs
- Be confident working with neurodivergent pupils, including those with autism and ADHD
- Hold a valid first aid qualification (or be willing to obtain one)
- Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to support
- Work effectively as part of a collaborative staff team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
