Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant – January Start - Southampton
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school to recruit a dedicated Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant for a position starting in the new year.
This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a child who is non-verbal, helping them to access learning, develop communication skills and feel safe and supported within the classroom environment. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to deliver tailored support in line with individual learning needs.
We are seeking an educator who:

Has experience working with children in Key Stage 1, SEND settings, or a similar support role

Brings transferable skills from care, youth work or support work backgrounds
-
Is patient, nurturing and adaptable, with a strong understanding of child-centred practice
-
Can build positive relationships and communicate effectively with staff and pupils
-
Is committed to inclusive education and safeguarding
Experience supporting non-verbal children, or using alternative communication methods, is highly desirable, though not essential for the right candidate with a willingness to learn.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
