 Adhoc SEN Teaching Assistant – Portsmouth

Teaching Personnel are looking for reliable, enthusiastic, and compassionate Adhoc Teaching Assistants to support a specialist SEN school in the Portsmouth area. This flexible role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive.

About the Role

As an Adhoc SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.

  • Assist teachers in delivering inclusive and engaging learning activities.

  • Support the emotional, social, and academic development of pupils.

  • Help maintain a positive, safe, and nurturing school environment.

  • Be available for flexible, short-notice work as required.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking individuals who:

  • Have previous experience working with SEN children (in schools, care roles, youth work, etc.).

  • Are patient, proactive, and passionate about supporting young people.

  • Work well as part of a team and can follow teacher guidance.

  • Are dependable and comfortable with adhoc working patterns.

  • Hold (or are willing to apply for) a valid DBS certificate.
