Ad Hoc Learning Support Assistant – SEN Colleges, Portsmouth
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour

Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated, patient, and motivated Ad Hoc Learning Support Assistants to support young people across several SEN colleges in Portsmouth. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about helping learners aged 16+ build confidence, independence, and essential life and academic skills.
About the Role:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with a range of SEN needs (including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, learning disabilities, and complex needs)

Assist lecturers and support teams in delivering accessible, engaging lessons

Support students both in the classroom and within vocational or community-based learning environments

Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and employability skills

Offer flexible, ad hoc cover depending on college requirements
We’re Looking For:

Someone calm, patient, and enthusiastic
-
Experience within SEN or care settings (desirable but training provided)

Confidence in supporting young adults with diverse needs
-
Ability to start ASAP

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
