 Ad Hoc Learning Support Assistant – SEN Colleges, Portsmouth 
Start Date: ASAP
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour

Teaching Personnel are seeking dedicated, patient, and motivated Ad Hoc Learning Support Assistants to support young people across several SEN colleges in Portsmouth. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about helping learners aged 16+ build confidence, independence, and essential life and academic skills.

About the Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with a range of SEN needs (including autism, ADHD, communication difficulties, learning disabilities, and complex needs)

  • Assist lecturers and support teams in delivering accessible, engaging lessons

  • Support students both in the classroom and within vocational or community-based learning environments

  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and employability skills

  • Offer flexible, ad hoc cover depending on college requirements

We’re Looking For:

  • Someone calm, patient, and enthusiastic

  • Experience within SEN or care settings (desirable but training provided)

  • Confidence in supporting young adults with diverse needs

  • Ability to start ASAP

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
