Teaching Assistant

Contract: Full-time (term time only)
A friendly and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Poole is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting young people in their learning and development. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and students across the school, providing in-class support and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key responsibilities include:

Supporting students within the classroom, both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis where required
-
Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management
-
Helping students to stay focused, engaged and motivated in their learning
-
Supporting students with additional learning needs as directed by the SEN team
-
Promoting positive behaviour and inclusion across the school
The successful candidate will:

Have experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
-
Be patient, reliable and enthusiastic
-
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Be able to work effectively as part of a team
-
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
