This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a school where every child is known, valued, and supported. You'll play a key role in helping pupils with additional needs feel happy, confident, and able to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

About the School

This friendly infant school has created a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to be curious, resilient, and kind. The staff genuinely support one another, and there's a strong sense of teamwork throughout the school. Inclusion sits at the heart of everything they do, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.

The Role

No two days are the same, and that's what makes this role so rewarding.

Working alongside experienced teachers and the SENDCo, you'll provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs. Your role will include:

  • Supporting children with their learning, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
  • Encouraging independence while providing reassurance and guidance when needed.
  • Helping to adapt classroom activities so every child can access learning.
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
  • Supporting positive behaviour and helping children develop confidence in themselves.
  • Working closely with the class teacher to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment.

We're Looking For Someone Who...

  • Is patient, compassionate, and genuinely enjoys working with children.
  • Has experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs, either in education, childcare, or a care setting.
  • Can build positive relationships and communicate effectively with both children and adults.
  • Is adaptable, proactive, and enjoys being part of a supportive team.
  • Wants to make a meaningful difference in a child's school experience.
  • Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is happy to obtain one through Teaching Personnel.
