Teaching Assistant

I am working with a a special school dedicated to supporting pupils aged 4 to 19 with a diverse range of learning difficulties. We collaborate closely with local schools, hosting eight satellite classrooms at different school sites across Bournemouth and Poole.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with diverse learning needs, supporting their academic and personal development in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs.

• Assist in the planning and delivery of tailored learning activities.

• Support students with physical, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

• Work closely with the class teacher to track student progress and implement individualized learning plans.

• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students’ growth and self-esteem.

• Help with general classroom duties, including preparing resources and assisting with classroom management.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting.

• A strong understanding of SEN and a commitment to supporting children with a range of learning difficulties.

• Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.

• A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.

• A positive, flexible attitude and the ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
