Job description

Are you passionate about supporting children’s learning and development?
Do you have experience working in primary education or with children with special educational needs (SEN)?

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join friendly and welcoming primary schools across Plymouth. This role involves general classroom support and providing 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

About the Role:

  • Work closely with class teachers to support pupils across the curriculum

  • Provide targeted 1:1 or small group support for children with additional needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH)

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of differentiated learning activities

  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being

  • Help to prepare resources, displays, and maintain a safe, engaging classroom

‍ We’re Looking For Someone Who:

  • Has experience working with children in a school or care setting

  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills

  • Is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs

  • Has a proactive attitude and can work well within a team

  • Holds a relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3) – desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
