SEN Teaching Assistant – Northampton
Location:Northampton
Salary: Dependent on experience
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm (no weekends)
Job Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only

We’re currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a warm, inclusive, and forward-thinking school in Northampton. You will play a vital role in supporting pupils with SEN, helping them to access learning and thrive in a safe and encouraging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEN both in the classroom and during break/lunch times
- Assist the class teacher with daily activities and planning
- Maintain a safe, tidy, and engaging classroom environment
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive atmosphere that encourages positive behaviour and learning
- Offer one-to-one or small group support tailored to individual needs
No School Experience? No Problem!
While prior school-based experience is a bonus, it’s not essential. We’re looking for candidates who bring:
- Passion and commitment to working with children – a must
- Initiative, energy, and a positive attitude – a must
- Previous experience with SEN (desirable, not essential)
- A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)

- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (can be applied for through Teaching Personnel)
- Two most recent employment references (covering the last 24 months)
- Overseas police check (if you’ve lived outside the UK for 6+ months in the last 5 years)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
