Teaching Personnel are recruiting an Aspiring Teaching Assistant to work within a Specialist Resource Base (SRB) in a primary school setting in the NP25 area.

This role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in education and who is particularly interested in supporting pupils with complex additional learning needs, including Autism and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD).

About the Role

• Support pupils within a specialist SRB environment
• Work 1:1 and in small class groups
• Support children who require a different approach to learning
• Help pupils with communication, engagement and emotional regulation
• Follow structured routines and specialist strategies
• Work closely with experienced teachers and support staff
• Create a calm, safe and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Looking to start a career in education
• Calm, patient and emotionally resilient
• Comfortable working with pupils who have complex needs
• Proactive with a strong “get up and go” attitude
• Willing to learn specialist approaches and strategies
• Confident taking direction and following behaviour plans
• Previous experience with children (care, youth work, family, volunteering) is helpful but not essential
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
