Primary Teaching Assistant – NP20
Location: NP20
Start Date: February 2026
Pay: From £89.38 per day
Hours: Full-Time (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
Teaching Personnel is looking for a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in NP20. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development.
Role Overview
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN).
- Assist the class teacher in managing behaviour and classroom activities.
- Supervise small group work (reading, writing, numeracy).
- Provide emotional and social support where needed.
- Prepare resources and help create an engaging learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Confident in managing groups and promoting positive behaviour.
- Previous experience working with children (school, playscheme, sports coaching, nursery, residential care, etc.).
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Empathetic and understanding approach.
Experience with ALN is desirable but not essential.
We also welcome applicants with transferable skills from roles such as Support Worker or Care Assistant.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
