Year 3 Teaching Assistant – Newport (NP20)

Start Date: September
Position Type: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Pay Rate: £89.38 per day

Are you passionate about supporting young learners and helping them thrive academically and socially? We are seeking a committed Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join a warm, inclusive, and well-supported primary school in the NP20 area of Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to pupils’ development during a vital stage in their education.
Key Responsibilities:

Support Year 3 pupils in class across the full curriculum.
-
Deliver focused interventions in literacy and numeracy, either 1:1 or in small groups.
-
Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and resource management.

Foster a positive, inclusive environment that supports children's emotional and social wellbeing.

Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, structured classroom.

Work alongside teaching staff and SEN specialists to support pupils with additional learning needs.

A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting children.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Confidence in managing behaviour in line with school policies.

Previous experience in a primary school setting is desirable.

A valid enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
