Are you passionate about supporting young learners and helping them thrive academically and socially? We are seeking a committed Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join a warm, inclusive, and well-supported primary school in the NP20 area of Newport. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to pupils’ development during a vital stage in their education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Year 3 pupils in class across the full curriculum.

• Deliver focused interventions in literacy and numeracy, either 1:1 or in small groups.

• Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and resource management.

• Foster a positive, inclusive environment that supports children's emotional and social wellbeing.

• Promote positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, structured classroom.

• Work alongside teaching staff and SEN specialists to support pupils with additional learning needs.

• A patient, compassionate, and proactive approach to supporting children.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Confidence in managing behaviour in line with school policies.

• Previous experience in a primary school setting is desirable.

• A valid enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
