Your Role as a Teaching Assistant
You'll play a vital part in supporting students with a range of learning needs – including ADHD, ASD, SEMH, and BESD. Whether working 1:1 or in small groups, your support helps students stay engaged and succeed in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support classroom learning and behaviour management
- Deliver targeted interventions and one-to-one support
- Prepare classroom resources and assist with daily activities
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers
- Adapt support strategies based on individual learning needs
- Collaborate with teaching and support staff to enhance student outcomes
- Participate in free CPD and training opportunities with Teaching Personnel

You’ll Need:
- A positive, enthusiastic attitude and strong communication skills
- Experience working with children (formal or informal – desirable but not essential)
- A willingness to support students with a range of needs and abilities
- Flexibility and a commitment to student success
- Availability for full or part-time work during school hours
Essential Requirements:
- Enhanced Child DBS (on the Update Service or willing to apply)
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) or willingness to register
- Two most recent professional references
- Right to work in the UK
- Completion of Level 2 Safeguarding training (provided free by Teaching Personnel)
