Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Contract: Full-time
Rate of Pay: From £14.25 per hour
Start Date: September 2026
About the Role
Teaching Personnel are seeking a motivated and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive secondary school team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced teachers to support students aged 11–16, helping them achieve their full academic and personal potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, including those with SEN
- Assist with classroom management and behaviour support
- Help prepare learning materials and resources
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment

What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with young people (in schools or similar settings preferred)
- A passion for education and supporting student development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (grade C/4 or above)
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
