Teaching Assistant – Hounslow, West London
A secondary school in Hounslow, West London are currently seeking a teaching assistant to support a KS3 autistic pupil on a 1:1 basis. The school cater to students with autism, Down syndrome and complex needs from the ages of 16-19 years. They have recently included a state-of-the-art sensory room as well as a sensory garden to meet the needs of the pupils.
As a teaching assistant here, you will be supporting the classroom teacher by creating an engaging learning environment and also becoming part of the ‘family’. Working with students with special educational needs is very rewarding as every school day presents a new challenge.
The school are looking for a teaching assistant with:
- A desire to support students with special educational needs
- Provide a proactive and engaging learning environment for the pupils
- Understand the different types of special educational needs (SEMH, Autism, Down syndrome)
- Passionate for supporting children and working on their progress
- Has a proactive personality and is interactive with the pupils?
