Job Description

We are looking for a patient and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team as soon as possible until the end of term. This role could continue onto the autumn term (funding dependent). The successful candidate will work full time and provide support to a SEN student.

Responsibilities

  • Support the teacher in lesson preparation and creating an enriching environment for students
  • Provide one-on-one support to the student and help create individualised education plans (IEPs) in relation to the students’ progress
  • Monitor the students’ progress and report back to the teachers
  • Support the student in developing confidence and-self assurance
  • Supervise the student during break times and school trips to ensure their safety
  • Develop a strong knowledge about the student and their needs

Required Qualifications

  • Level 2 in Childcare or experience in an educational setting
  • Enhanced DBS or willing to apply for one
  • Available for full time or part time roles

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience working with children with Autism and Challenging behaviour is essential
  • A strong understanding of SEN and the challenges that can arise
  • Organised and strong time management skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom settings
  • Strong sense of initiative and resilience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Passion for children’s learning

Working Conditions

  • Ful-time position with regular school hours (8.30-3.30 Monday-Friday)
  • 30-minute lunch break
  • Working in a classroom setting with students
