Job Description: Teaching Assistant
Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber, East Riding of York, Goole
Job Type: Contract, Full-Time
Primary Industry: Education and Training
Salary: £80 - £95 per day
Job Duties:
- Supporting the classroom teacher in delivering lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment
- Assisting with the preparation of teaching materials and resources
- Providing individual and group support to students in their learning activities
- Supervising students during class and break times
- Helping with classroom management and behaviour management
- Assessing students' progress and providing feedback to the teacher
- Assisting with administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and organising classroom materials
- Collaborating with the teacher and other staff members to meet the educational needs of students
Required Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Relevant teaching assistant qualification or experience
Education:
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Teaching assistant qualification or relevant experience
Experience:
- Prior experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role
- Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong understanding of the national curriculum and educational policies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport with students and create a supportive learning environment
- Organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Higher level teaching assistant qualification
- First aid certification
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily conducted within a school setting
- Full-time hours, typically Monday to Friday
- Contract-based employment
- May involve working with students of different age groups and abilities
- Occasional requirement for assisting with extracurricular activities or school events

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
