Job Description: Teaching Assistant
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber, E Riding of York, Goole
Job Type: Contract, Full-Time
Primary Industry: Education and Training
Salary: £77 - £95 Per day
Job Duties:
- Assist the teacher in delivering lessons and supporting students in their learning
- Supervise students during class activities, ensuring their safety and well-being
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance
- Help create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Assist in preparing teaching materials and resources
- Support students with special educational needs or disabilities, following individualised plans
- Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive student engagement
- Assist with administrative tasks such as record-keeping and organising classroom materials
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure effective communication and coordination
Required Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Basic IT skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
Education:
A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
Experience:
No prior experience required, but previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is advantageous.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of child development and learning processes
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual student needs
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection policies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- First Aid certification
Working Conditions:
The teaching assistant will primarily work within a classroom setting, assisting the teacher and supporting students during school hours. The role may involve some physical activity and occasional participation in off-site activities. The teaching assistant will adhere to the school's policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety guidelines.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
