Job description

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be a valuable member of the school team and have an important part to play in the education of children. You will be expected to contribute to the daily life of the school community and give support to the various activities and functions which take place.

You will be working under the direction of the class teacher and along side other supply staff to support learning activities. You may be asked to take responsibility for a small group of students within the class setting.

To be considered as a supply Teaching Assistant, it is essential you have:

  • Experience of working with children or vulnerable adults, including in a voluntary capacity
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and take instruction well
  • The ability to communicate effectively
  • The ability to recognise and be sensitive to individual needs of students in such a manner that will enhance their self-esteem.
  • A willingness to work with pupils of all ages and abilities
  • GCSE Level C or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Comfortable with personal care

As a supply TA, you can work as little or as much as you like but must be able to work between the hours of 08:30 – 15:30.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
