Role: Teaching Assistant

Location: Chichester

Start: September

Hours: Full time (term time only)

Situated in the historic city of Chichester, this dynamic secondary school provides an inclusive and engaging learning environment for students aged 11 to 18. In its most recent Ofsted inspection, the school was rated ‘GOOD’ across all areas, with its Sixth Form graded ‘OUTSTANDING’.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join the SEN department for September 2025. Successful candidates will support students with special educational needs (SEN) and those with learning or behavioural challenges.  This support will come in a variety of forms such as in class, group interventions, one to one intervention, mentoring, exam access arrangements and encompass both academic and pastoral needs. Some pupils may also require personal care; however this is not an essential element of the role.

Experience of working with young people with special educational needs or experience of social communication difficulties would be beneficial, but not essential. The school are looking for passionate people who have a strong desire to support young people overcome their barriers to learning. Candidates must have a high standard of communication, numeracy and literacy and be able to promote these effectively to ensure we deliver outstanding academic outcomes for our young people. 

Essential Requirements:

  • A genuine desire to support young people in their educational journey
  • Strong communication, numeracy, and literacy skills
  • Ability to promote high standards of learning and achievement
  • Minimum of GCSE Grade 4 (C or above) in English and Mathematics

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
