Role: Teaching Assistant
Location: Chatham
Hours: 08.30 – 15.30
Pay: £77- £85 per day
Start Date: September 4th

Teaching Personnel are currently searching for dedicated, passionate, and hardworking Teaching Assistant’s to join our team for the upcoming academic year in September. This is a great opportunity for students that have just left sixth form / college and would like a break before heading off to university or maybe you are a university student that would like to take a gap year in your studies. This is a great opportunity to gain excellent experience working in education where you can gain numerous transferable skills for all aspects of your life and career. Teaching Personnel offer excellent rates of pay and flexible shifts so if you are looking for full time work or part time work, we will have roles to suit you!
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate would have already gained experience working with children in a classroom, care, or sporting setting. If you don’t have any experience working with children, we have had successful candidates that come from backgrounds in sport, drama, and music. We also welcome all aspiring teachers that plan on completing a PGCE in future. You will need strong language, grammar, and communication skills as well as understanding of children’s behaviour as you will be teaching groups of children language and mathematics in small groups. The schools we work with are based all over Cardiff so the ability to drive would be great but is not a necessary requirement if you have access to transport to reach our schools.
Main Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher in creating resources for teaching and tasks.
- Ensure that physical, emotional, and social welfare of the students is upheld.
- Manage and control challenging behaviour and make use of intervention strategies.
- Prevent disruption during the class and during playtime.
- Deescalate heated situations between students of the class.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
