Teaching Assistant –
Start Date: ASAP
Pay: £13–£14 per hour (depending on experience)
Location: Bruton, Somerset – BA10
Contract: Full-time
Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join Bruton Primary School on a full-time basis, starting as soon as possible.

The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils across the school, working closely with class teachers to help deliver engaging lessons and provide additional support where needed.
Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 or small group basis
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and classroom activities
- Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Supporting children with additional learning needs (where required)
- Encouraging pupils’ academic progress and social development
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working in a school setting is highly desirable
- A patient, caring, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Teaching Personnel Vetting Requirements
All applicants must meet Teaching Personnel safeguarding and vetting standards, including:
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
- Two professional references, covering the last two years
- Proof of Right to Work in the UK
- Full safeguarding checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
