Teaching Assistant – Secondary SEMH School (Bramley, Surrey)
Location: Bramley, Surrey

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEMH secondary school that supports students aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The school provides a therapeutic, nurturing and structured environment that prioritises emotional well-being, positive relationships and personalised learning.

Role Overview
We are seeking committed and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join this supportive specialist setting. In this role, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEMH needs

  • Help create a calm, safe learning environment and promote positive behaviour

  • Support teachers with differentiated activities and personalised learning plans

  • Build trusting relationships with students to support emotional regulation and engagement

  • Contribute to behaviour support strategies and work closely with the wider pastoral team

  • Participate in restorative approaches, team meetings and ongoing training

  • A caring, patient and resilient approach

  • Experience working with young people (SEMH/SEND experience desirable but not essential)

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

  • The ability to stay calm, consistent and solution-focused

  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
