Behaviour Support Mentor – Secondary SEMH School (Bramley, Surrey)
Location: Bramley, Surrey

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEMH secondary school that supports students aged 11–16 with complex Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is a nurturing, therapeutic setting focused on building emotional resilience, positive behaviour and strong relationships.

Role Overview
We are seeking a confident, empathetic and resilient Behaviour Support Mentor to join this dedicated team. In this role, you will:

  • Provide targeted behaviour support to students on a 1:1 and small-group basis

  • De-escalate challenging situations using calm, consistent and trauma-informed approaches

  • Build strong, positive relationships to help students regulate emotions and stay engaged in learning

  • Support the development and implementation of behaviour plans and intervention strategies

  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals

  • Promote restorative practice and help foster a safe, structured environment for all students

What We’re Looking For

  • A calm, patient and resilient individual with strong interpersonal skills

  • Experience working with young people, ideally in SEMH, behaviour support or youth work

  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour and using de-escalation strategies

  • A solution-focused, proactive approach

  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
