We are currently recruiting dedicated and resilient SEMH Behaviour Mentors to support pupils in specialist and mainstream settings across Guildford and Woking.

This is an ideal opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour.


About the Role

As a SEMH Behaviour Mentor, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils

  • Support emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies

  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams

  • Implement behaviour support plans and intervention strategies

  • Promote engagement, resilience, and self-confidence

  • Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

You may work within specialist provisions, alternative settings, or mainstream schools with dedicated SEN support units.


The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, challenging behaviour, or additional needs

  • A calm, patient, and consistent approach

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • The ability to de-escalate situations effectively

  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

Backgrounds in youth work, care, mental health support, sports coaching, or education are highly desirable.
