Are you looking to gain hands on experience working within an education setting?

Teaching Personnel are working with a primary SEN school in Bournemouth, looking for Teaching Assistants to start immediately. The school caters for pupils aged 5-12 years with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Pupils may also have additional needs such as ADHD and Autism. The school follows the National Curriculum and runs similarly to a mainstream primary school, with small class sizes of around 6-8 pupils. The school is an Outstanding setting offering learning opportunities to the communities more vulnerable children.

The school provides excellent training and development, and is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking for a career in education - whether that be going into teaching (the school can support with teacher training) or for someone looking to go down a different route in education.

You will be working as a class based Teaching Assistant. This will involve supporting the teacher with the lessons and helping pupils with their work. You will also be required to support children on a 1-1 basis and will be responsible for behaviour management and providing emotional support.

The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, pro-active person who has a real passion for supporting children with behaviour needs. You must be a confident and resilient person. Experience working in a school is not required if you have experience supporting children or adults with special needs/mental health.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQ’s on the Teaching Personnel website for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
