Teaching Assistant
Job description
A secondary school in Blandford is looking to appoint a full-time Teaching Assistant from September 2025. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about education and wants to support young people in a dynamic and inclusive school setting.
The role will involve working alongside teaching staff to provide classroom support, as well as helping individual students to stay engaged and make progress in their learning.
Key responsibilities include:

Supporting students in and out of the classroom to access learning
-
Working with teaching staff to deliver targeted interventions
-
Assisting with the preparation of learning materials
-
Helping to manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
-
Providing 1:1 or small group support where required
-
Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
The ideal candidate will:
-
Be reliable, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young people
-
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Be able to use their initiative and work as part of a team
-
Show a flexible and proactive approach to supporting learning
-
Have experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
