Teaching Assistant – Alternative Provision
Location: Blackburn
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 3:20pm
Pay: £13.75 – £14.50 per hour

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people who need extra support? We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision setting in Blackburn. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work with students who may face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges and need a more tailored educational approach.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Strong behaviour management skills

  • A good sense of humour and ability to build rapport

  • Experience working with young people, especially those with additional needs

  • Background in support work, youth work or similar roles is highly desirable

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis

  • Assisting the class teacher with planning and delivery

  • Helping to create a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment

  • Managing behaviour in line with school policies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
