Teaching Assistant
Bedford
September 2025 (ASAP)
Full Time (Term-Time Only)
Initially 1 Term – potential for extension
£85 – £95 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

A welcoming primary school in Bedford is looking to appoint a committed Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This full-time role will run for the Autumn Term initially, with the possibility of extension.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, providing individual and small group support, and contributing to a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support pupils in class under the direction of the teacher
- Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support where needed
- Help prepare resources and assist with classroom organisation
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
- Support the wellbeing and progress of every child
- Contribute to the wider life of the school as a team player
Requirements:
- Experience working with children (school-based experience desirable)
- Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE or equivalent in English & Maths)
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- A patient, flexible, and proactive approach
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
