Job description

Teaching Assistant – South Manchester Secondary

A secondary school in the south of Manchester are looking to recruit a full time Teaching Assistant to start ASAP until the end of the academic year. This appointment will initially be via Teaching Personnel on a supply basis, with the opportunity for a permanent role through a school-based contract afterwards.

 A successful applicant will support with teaching in the classroom and working closely with students who require additional support. The school is looking for an individual who is adaptable to support with any subjects, whilst being confident in joining a large team of co-workers. This role will suit an individual of any experience level seeking work within an ambitious secondary school environment as a teaching assistant; preferably someone who is looking into a teaching position in the future.

This school is a diverse, all-girls school which has an outstanding Ofsted rating. Inevitably, this school faces some social challenges between the pupils so the successful candidate must be confident in supporting other teachers with conflict resolution. This school is highly praised for their exceptional behaviour and discipline, as well as having caring and supporting staff who provide strong safeguarding and pastoral care to students.

The general area is a diverse, vibrant suburb in south-east Manchester that has undergone significant regeneration, attracting more young families to the area. It is well connected with a local train station being only a 10-minute walk away and is highly connected to the nearby areas of Levenshulme, Longsight, Burnage and Didsbury.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
