The Role:
You will be responsible for supporting classroom teachers in providing the best support possible to students ranging in the ages 2-19 years old, with various Special Educational Needs such as:
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Complex medical needs
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Visual Impairment (VI)
- Hearing Impairment (HI)
- Physical Disabilities (PD)
This community special school located in Beaminster is dedicated to supporting children and young people, all of which have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). They offer modern, well-resourced environment featuring a hydrotherapy pool, sensory room and garden, soft play area, emotional support spaces, and well-designed outdoor learning areas. These facilities, combined with specialist therapies and highly trained staff, create an inclusive setting focused on communication, independence, and life skills.
Who We Are Looking For:
- SEN(D) experience in or out of an educational setting
- A patient, resilient, and innovative professional with a caring nature and a compassionate commitment to supporting children
- Able to collaborate with teachers and other support staff
- Understanding of positive behaviour support strategies
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of non-verbal communication techniques

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
