Teaching Assistant for Challenging Behaviour

Teaching Personnel are recruiting for an SEND School in Middlesbrough who are searching for a Teaching Assistant to work with students with social emotional and mental health difficulties on a full time basis, to commence as soon as possible for the duration of the academic year. The role will be in a specialist SEND school, working with vulnerable young people, you will be working with the support of an extensive professional team of staff. The children in the provision display extremely challenging behaviour, so the successful candidate will be confident in approaching this. The client school welcomes applications from a variety of backgrounds including those from youth work or army/military, experience working with social, emotional and mental health as well as challenging behaviour is extremely desirable.

You will be helping pupils to work towards formal qualifications so an enthusiastic and proactive teaching assistant with a desire for working with young people is required. You will be supporting pupils aged between 11 and 16. You must be a strong role model, motivated and dedicated to providing outstanding support to students and passionate making a real difference to students who may display some of the following behaviours:

• Social anxiety
• Drug and alcohol addiction
• Language barriers
• Learning difficulties
