Teaching Assistant for 1:1 Autism Support - Bedale
Job description
This vacancy has now expired. Please see similar roles below...
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a SEND provision in Bedale who are seeking a teaching assistant on a part time basis, to commence after the February half term continuing through the academic year.
The role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with a small number of pupils aged 5-11 who have Autism of varying severities, the students are in need of extra support and guidance primarily with their literacy and numeracy. The main aspect of the role will be helping the children to engage with their learning, and encouraging personal and social development whilst managing challenging behaviour in lesson time. You will be expected to monitor children's academic and personal progress within lessons, and you will have regular meetings with the class teacher to discuss this.
Ideally, the candidate will have experience working with Autism; however the client school welcomes candidates with backgrounds in education, youth/social work, counselling and graduates. You will be passionate about improving the lives of young people and have a strong desire to work with SEND.
Registering with Teaching Personnel will also provide you with access to unique CPD opportunities to increase your qualifications and knowledge of the field, so this position is ideal for those wishing to broaden their work experience. We have an upcoming Team Teach training course which will highly benefit you in this role. You will be supported by a specialist team of SEN recruitment consultants with education backgrounds, who are well placed to enrol you onto your desired courses.
Teaching Personnel can offer teaching assistant's competitive pay rates of between £270-350 per week; it is likely that a longer contract will be offered to the successful candidate, however Teaching Personnel can offer further work opportunities if this is not the case. Teaching Personnel work with a large number of SEN schools across the UK, if you are interested in registering to work through Teaching Personnel, to gain full time or part time work or to gain SEN experience please call us today for a confidential chat to hear more.
