Classroom Assistant - Food Technology

May 2019 start

The school

A Secondary school in the area of Waterlooville are seeking to appoint a classroom assistant for their Food Technology department. The school aims to provide the highest possible quality of teaching to allow all pupils to enjoy their education whilst being actively involved in their learning. They ensure each student has access to the curriculum through additional support where needed, and that all pupils are given the opportunity to grow academically, socially and culturally. Working closely with the parents and community, the school ensures that pupils become successful young adults by the time they leave their education.

The role

Duties of this role include preparing resources ready for the lesson with the support of the class teacher. You will use your initiative to support the staff to ensure their classrooms are ready for pupils to arrive and begin their learning straight away. You should be dynamic in your approach to pupils learning, supporting them on a 1:1 basis or in small groups throughout their lesson to enhance their education and allow them to enjoy the subject without difficulty. You will be an excellent communicator, providing feedback and guidance to pupils, and reporting to the class teacher and head of department
