Teaching Assistant (Autism)
Manchester

Teaching Personnel are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support students with Autism at our client school in Manchester. This is a full time role commencing as soon as possible. The working hours are 8am - 4pm (term time only) will a monthly salary of up to £1300 per month dependant on experience.

As an Autism specialist Teaching Assistant, you will have a passion for working with young people, in particular, those who have barriers to learning and additional needs.

Duties of the role will include:

  • Providing day to day classroom support
  • Establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs
  • Encouraging pupils to interact with others and engaging in activities
  • Assisting in the planning and preparing of lesson materials and resources

We are looking for an individual who has relevant experience working with young people with Special Educational Needs or with Autism. They will have an understanding of the National Curriculum and will have the confidence to address any challenging behaviour.

Our client school is a large mainstream secondary school with over 900 pupils on roll. Due to the catchment area of the school, there is a high percentage of students who receive pupil premium funding and a number of students who are from disadvantaged backgrounds. The school is located in South Manchester and is easily accessible via public transport links from the city centre and surrounding areas. For those who drive, the school is easily accessible by the M60 ring road or the M56 motorway.
