Teaching Assistant (Autism)

A specialist school in Bradford are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism (ASC) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). The successful candidate will have experience of supporting young people with Special Educational Needs in an education, health or care setting.
You must have an understanding of the culture of autism, with an individualised, child-centred approach to teaching and learning. You will have experience of structuring the physical environment, using visual supports to make tasks and activities predictable and understandable.
The school is based in the Low Moor area of Bradford and follows the EYFS curriculum, with a particular emphasis on developmental goals and play based learning. You will have experience working in a continuous provision environment and have an understanding of Early Years and Foundation Stage.
Additional training in PECS, Makaton, BSL and/or Team Teach would be advantageous but not essential - although you must be willing to complete training and attend CPD courses to further develop in these areas.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
