If you're interested in working in a school setting, Teaching Personnel can help you get started. We currently work with mainstream schools and special educational needs schools to supply them with teachers and teaching assistants.

We are currently recruiting teaching assistants for a specialist autism school in the Tilehurst area of Reading. In your role at the school you will be supporting the class teacher with their delivery of classwork, as well as working 1:1 with students who need additional support.

Teaching Personnel support various schools in the Reading area and we offer flexible short-term work as well as permanent roles. With Teaching Personnel you are free to try out different schools to see which one works best for you, you will also have a dedicated consultant who will be available to advise you on any roles you are considering.

Desirable Qualities for Teaching Assistant Positions

- Any relevant SEN/Autism experience or qualifications is desired, however not essential so please still apply.

- A passion and enthusiasm to see pupils achieve their best potential

- Dedication to the needs of all your pupils, working with other staff members to offer emotional and academic support

- A Child Only DBS on the Update Service, or one done through Teaching Personnel

- Good interpersonal skills and confidence

- Punctual and reliable - Enjoys a challenge

Candidates are required to work full time 8.30am-15:30/16.30pm depending on training days.
