Teaching Personnel are seeking to appoint a 1-1 SEN Support Teaching Assistant to work at a mainstream primary school in Liverpool, Litherland. This school prides itself on creating a caring and safe environment for pupils who have a wide range of Special Educational Needs. This can be a challenging but rewarding role, so the ideal candidate will be nurturing and resilient with a passion for helping those with SEND.

You will be supporting a Year 3 pupil on a 1-1 basis in an average sized classroom, providing learning support during lessons, behaviour management and emotional mentoring. You will also help to keep assesments to provide to both the class teacher and school SENCO for analysing 

This role may also offer further CPD training and experience, providing an excellent opportunity to develop your skills alongside truly making a difference for children in education.

As a Teaching Assistant supporting a pupil with autism, you must:

-          Have experience working with children and young people with SEN

-          Be resilient when providing support in challenging environments

-          Confidently work alongside staff and SENCO to understand the needs of pupils

-          Have the ability to engage pupils in their learning

-          Possess a calming and friendly manor to build relationships with pupils and staff

-          Work pro-actively to respond to pupils needs

-          Be able to embody the ethos of the school and work to their high standards

-          Be proactive in offering support and practical help

The role:

• Full time, Monday - Friday
• Start Date: Monday 22nd February (dependant upon school reopenings)
• Long term role 
• GBP10 - GBP11 per hour
• Hours: 8:30am - 3:00pm 

Experience in supporting individuals with autism, including school/care based or a personal connection are encouraged to apply.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
