Teaching Personnel are currently working with a secondary school in Newcastle to recruit a full time, dedicated Teaching Assistant to work alongside students displaying Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is a full time role, commencing in September 2019.
As an ASC Teaching Assistant you will be working with children and young people in Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful candidate will be passionate, driven and ready to work alongside students that may sometimes experience challenging behaviour and seem unengaged in the classroom and learning. Your role will be to support the children with their individual learning needs, often working on a 1:1 basis.
The ideal candidate will:
- Support implementation of strategies to manage behaviour
- Record and report the students progress to the teacher and parents
- Establish and maintain relationships with the children and other staff
- Be reliable, passionate and personable
- Have some ASC experience working with young people
Teaching Personnel can offer the successful ASC support classroom assistant competitive pay rates of £57-65 per day, however long term rates can be negotiated on your behalf. Teaching Personnel will also provide you with access to unique CPD opportunities to increase your qualifications and knowledge of the field, so this position is ideal for those wishing to enhance their CV and undertake a rewarding position.
