TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAMME | DERBY
Two-Year Salaried Route • September 2026

THE PROGRAMME
YEAR 1 • Cover Supervisor + Training
September 2026 – August 2027
Work as a salaried Cover Supervisor while building your teaching foundation through structured training and mentorship.
- Salary: £22,000 – £27,000
- Hands-on classroom experience
- Regular training: lesson planning, behaviour management, assessment, safeguarding
- One-to-one mentorship and coaching
- Observe and learn from experienced teachers
- Pension + school holidays
YEAR 2 • Formal Teacher Training
September 2027 – July 2028
Progress to full teacher training while continuing to earn. Complete your qualification and secure a permanent teaching role.
- Continued salary support
- Achieve QTS by July 2028
- Ongoing professional development

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To progress to Year 2 teacher training, you'll need:
- UK undergraduate degree (or equivalent)
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above: English and Maths
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above: Science (Primary only)
Equivalency tests and Subject Knowledge Enhancement courses available if needed.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
