THE JOURNEY
September 2026 – August 2027 | Cover Supervisor Year
Your first year combines paid employment with intensive teacher development.
Your role:
Work as a Cover Supervisor earning £22,000 - £27,000 while immersing yourself in school life and building essential teaching skills.
What happens:
- Daily classroom experience supporting students and lessons
- Weekly professional training: pedagogy, behaviour strategies, safeguarding, assessment
- Personal mentor providing ongoing guidance and feedback
- Structured observations of outstanding teaching practice
- Gradual transition into teaching responsibilities
- Full benefits package: pension, paid holidays, employment rights
September 2027 – July 2028 | Formal Training Year
Progress seamlessly into your teacher training qualification year with continued salary support.
Your outcome:
- Complete Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) requirements
- Maintain salary throughout training period
- Secure permanent teaching position within our school/trust
- Launch your long-term education career
ENTRY CRITERIA
Academic qualifications required for teacher training:
- Undergraduate degree (UK or recognized international equivalent)
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English Language
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Mathematics
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Science (Primary route only)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
