Teacher of Science- Leigh

Teaching Personnel have been approached by one of our partner schools in Leigh to recruit for a Teacher of Science to start with them from February 2018.

This position will initially be until the summer and there is the possibility of a fixed term contract being offered from September.

This is an exciting time to join a school that is going from strength to strength under a new Senior Leadership team.

You will join a team of specialised staff within the Science department who are achieving higher results year on year. Science is very popular subject at the school and the department offer an excellent programme to enhance the pupil's learning of the subject. This includes field trips, guest speakers and residentials.

You will be required to take on full teaching and planning responsibilities and expected to teach to both KS3 and GCSE classes ranging in ability. You will be required to plan and deliver engaging lessons. The Science department has modern laboratories with all having access to interactive white boards, computers, power, gas, water supply and comprehensive scientific equipment.

Our partner school is an 11-16 mixed comprehensive situated within the Wigan LEA. It is average in size with around 1000 pupils on roll. The vast majority of children are of white British heritage.

Located in Leigh, the school is easily accessible as it is only a short drive from M6 and has direct transport links to the surrounding areas; Bolton, Salford and Wigan town centre.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.
