About the Role
Our client, a successful and inclusive all-through school and sixth form based in Ilford, is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Career Teacher (ECT) of History to join their Humanities department from September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified teacher to begin their career in a forward-thinking and supportive school environment.

Main Responsibilities

Teach engaging and well-planned History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

Support students’ academic progress through high-quality feedback and ongoing assessment
-
Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the department
-
Promote a love for History through dynamic and inclusive teaching strategies

Support the pastoral development of students as a form tutor
-
Collaborate with colleagues across the department and wider school to raise achievement
-
Participate fully in the life of the school, including CPD and enrichment opportunities
What They Are Looking For
The successful candidate will:
-
Hold QTS (or be on track to achieve QTS by September 2025) and a relevant degree in History or a related field

Be passionate about teaching History and committed to inspiring all learners

Have a good understanding of the History curriculum at KS3 and KS4

Demonstrate strong classroom management and the ability to build positive relationships with students
-
Be reflective, open to feedback, and keen to grow professionally

Show a commitment to inclusive education and high expectations for all students

Possess good organisational skills and work well as part of a team
