Our client school in Reading require an English Teacher or English NQT to join the department with immediate effect, to support the department while covering for maternity leave.

This position will involve full departmental responsibilities including planning and marking and will involve teaching a range of ability groups across KS3 and GCSE level. With innovative science and technology facilities, and recently investing over £1million into their IT department, our client school is a growing school with a very good reputation within the local community. This would be an excellent opportunity for an English teacher to join the department in helping to raise attainment and help raise the school to an outstanding Ofsted rated level.

  • Full time position for an English teacher or English NQT, covering maternity leave
  • Paid in line with teaching scale point (£22,917 - £38,633 per annum)
  • Teaching both KS3 and GCSE level, including a wide range of ability groups
  • Long term position, with the potential of being extended for the right candidate

"Due to maternity leave we require an English NQT or English Teacher to join the department with immediate effect. They will be required to teach Maths to KS3 and GCSE level and will involve full department responsibilities including planning and marking. We require a passionate teacher who is dedicated to delivering interactive lessons and raising attainment through engaging and inspiring learning." - Head of English

Duties Include:

  • Preparing resources for both GCSE and KS3 students dependent on their ability
  • Plan and deliver interactive and inspiring lessons for pupils and assisting them to reach their full potential
  • Evaluating performance of pupils and implementing personal development plans to raise attainment
  • Collaborate with the Maths department, the pupils and their parents to monitor progress and ensure pupils are reaching their full potential
  • Full marking of classwork and homework
