Teacher of English
Full Time Maternity Cover

The school, a nationally high performing school are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed teacher of English to join them in January to cover a period of maternity leave. The English department are a successful one who are ambassadors for providing a world class learning experience to every student they teach, one of the schools most fundamental values.
The English department is an established team of teachers who all contribute to the success of their student’s year on year. All teachers are committed to enabling their students achieve high standards of literacy, fostering an enjoyment for reading and critical skills. They are well structured with efficient assessment and progress monitoring procedures in place with a designated intervention lead teacher. The department boasts comfortable classrooms, fully equipped with computers and projectors and are very well resourced.
As a teacher in the department, you are encouraged to participate in their broad extra curricular activities which extend to competitions and festivals. The department also has close links with the local library to enhance the range of opportunities available such as the accelerated reader programme. In addition to this, you will also be required to attend cross curricular meetings and most members of staff have their own tutor groups.
The school welcomes applications from NQTs as well as more experienced teachers. It is anticipated the successful candidate will be in post for one year, although it could be less depending on the return of their usual teacher. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
